Chicago

My first trip to Chicago proved to be a little on the touristy side. Nevertheless, there are some inspiring sights to be seen. The juxtaposition of tall brick and modern glass structures are unseen on the west coast. Its exceptionally clean for a large city, although we did stick to the main streets and Millenium park.

Dubai

Looking for background images for a few renderings I came across and used these, I believe the Sheik Zayed Road which cuts through downtown Dubai. Dubai looks so unreal now, like some futuristic entertainment background. I half expect to see flying cars and superheroes and shit, but this place is real. The architectural plans for future buildings are even more elaborate and conceptual than what has already been built. I can't wait for that spiraling tower in the works.

It is very likely that these buildings wont age well, much like the ones in Vegas, where 10 year old casinos look ancient. Aside from all the stories about our oil/blood money paying for these buildings, and the poor wages and terrible working conditions of the construction workers, I gotta say I enjoy seeing some futurism come to existence.
